Recently a gaming law specialist projected that there are no proven laws in certain states that claim online gambling to be illegal, however Attorney Generals of various states interpret the law differently and claim online gambling is illegal!

Online Casinos Legal Claim State Attorney Generals

Professor Joe Kelly of Buffalo College in New York known to be an expert on online gambling laws told Gambling Compliance that he was of the opinion, that the US Court of Appeals verdict on Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) being applicable only to states where online casino games and gambling has been declared illegal, would stop other states from acting as if online gambling was illegal.

Distinguished personalities like Kelly have also commented that many Attorney Generals would declare internet gambling as illegal even though there is no base to validate their point, but conclude that whatever form gambling may take on internet gambling is always declared illegal. Massachusetts has also joined hands in forbidding online casinos.

Kelly also added that officials like Coakley who is now a participant in the high-profile political race with the aim to succeed Edward Kennedy as US Senator, may take steps to discourage online gambling even without state laws prohibiting it, which would definitely disappoint and infuriate gaming enthusiasts!
